Why the EDM wire breaks frequently during edge-finding on wire EDM machines?
If the EDM wire breaks frequently during edge-finding, the possible reason is the larger wire tension power. Normally the default setting of the wire tension is 12. If you change the wire to Dia0.15mmor0.1mmones, you have to reduce the wire tension value. Otherwise, the wire will break frequently during the edge-finding. FW should be 3 for the EDM wire of diameter0.1mm; and it is 7 for the EDM wire of diameter0.15mm.
